It’s more than a unique taste. Bitburger Premium Beer is also famous for its lovely amber colour. But as with every other pilsner beers, it sometimes needs a bit of a hand. Here’s how we do it. The yeast cells and cloudy particles are removed from the beer in the filter cellar. Yeast and protein particles not only cause the beer to become cloudy, they also reduce its shelf life. Bitburger uses a filtration process which is not only incredibly thorough - it helps to produce that wonderful amber colour. This happens on three filtration lines, each one with a capacity of 700hl per hour: Preliminary sedimentation, beer stabilisation and blank filtration ensure optimal shelf-life and filter out even the finest residues.
