Innovative Brewing Tradition for Unique Beer Creations.
In 1817 the Bitburger Privatbrauerei was founded as a small country brewery. Dr. Axel Simon (6th generation of entrepreneurs) built an independent brewery in 1990 as an internal research and development center. In our think tank, we not only experimented, but also brewed great specialities from the very beginning. These brews were simply too good not to drink all the time - so in 2013, Craftwerk Brewing was born.

A Beer Friendship - Craftwerk Brewing and the Hopworks Urban Brewery
Craftwerk Brewing and the Hopworks Urban Brewery from Portland, USA, share a beer friendship that has already resulted in two successful collaboration brews. After craft master brewer Stefan Hanke attended a rock concert in San Diego together with his colleagues Christian Eltinger and Thomas Bleigh from HUB, the three set to work in spring 2015 and created the "Battle of the Paddle". The success was immense, so the friendship was further deepened and the collaboration continued. This was followed in 2016 by “Craftwerk Hop Inferno Double India Pale Ale”, in which new hop varieties from Germany and America come together to create a very special taste experience.
